She is the author of Ways of Assessing Children and Curriculum: Stories of Early Childhood Practice (抖阴app Press), The Need for Story: Cultural Diversity in Classroom and Community (National Council of Teachers of English), Children, Language and Literacy: Diverse Learners in Diverse Times (with Anne Haas Dyson; 抖阴app Press); and On The Case: Approaches to Language and Literacy Research (with Anne Haas Dyson; 抖阴app Press). In 2012, the American Educational Research Association honored Genishi with its Scholars of Color Distinguished Career Contribution Award, Division G Mentoring Award, and Critical Perspectives in Early Childhood Education Distinguished Career Contribution Award. Genishi also is a past recipient of the Advocate for Justice Award from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education
