"Get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast." That's standard advice on the first day of school and on test days -- so wouldn't students learn and perform better if they were well-rested and well-nourished going into every day of learning? TC's in the August issue of School Administrator.
Citing a wealth of research linking students' health status to their ability to learn and perform well in school, TC's Charles E. Basch, Richard March Hoe Professor of Health Education, argues in the journal  that schools must make ensuring student health as a fundamental part of their mission.
