The Wall Street Journal featured David O'Connor -- funder, with his wife, Maureen, of the new -- as its November 10th "Donor of the Day." In explaining his interest in working with TC, O'Connor cites the work of TC's Loss, Trauma and Emotion Lab, where Resilience Center Director George Bonanno, Professor of Clinical Psychology, has shown that while some veterans develop problems over time, issues adjustment (or "flexibility") are often more central that trauma. “You just don’t go away for two weeks and be a soldier and then come home,” says Bonanno. “When you become a soldier you’re in a completely different world.”
